Portinerie di Comunità is a network of transformed public spaces (newsstands, libraries, school classes, small warehouses) which became living and shared places offering social services for the needs of the neighbourhood. The methodology of Portinerie di Comunità is based on community “activation” and an online platform matching needs and hidden know-how from the neighbourhood. Get a first-hand look at an effective model of social innovation and cultural welfare being scaled up in Torino, in other parts of Italy and in Europe. Cascina Fossata

Cascina Fossata is a social housing and social innovation project, stemming from the desire to recover and give back to the city a long-abandoned farmhouse with great potential. One of the most effective, sustainable and renowned social housing projects in Torino, Cascina Fossata is now at the centre of the requalification of a peripheral, “difficult” area. Parco Arte Vivente |
Parco Arte Vivente (Living Art Park) is an innovative and experimental centre for contemporary art that is also a park. The PAV comprises an open-air exhibition site and an interactive museum intended as a meeting place for citizens. The workshop experiences PAV conceives aim at the dialogue between art and nature, biotechnology and ecology, and between the public and artists. Stop 1 Open Incet
|
After several decades of complete abandonment, the Incet factory has become one of the most significant interventions of the Urban Barriera regeneration program. Since 2015 Open Incet has been giving support to businesses and the local ecosystem, helping to accelerate their process of growth, development, scaling and internationalisation. Open Incet is also acting in collaboration with Colla! - Collaborative Innovation: the two entities, each with their own peculiarities, act in synergy to create connections with national and international ecosystems for social innovation. |
Stop 2 Via Baltea |
Laboratori di via Baltea is an urban regeneration project with a social and cultural impact: a community space that promotes collaborative cultural practices, based on the activism and participation of more than 100 local associations and organisations. Located in a former printing house, Via Baltea aims to create solidarity relationships, and promote the principles of recycling, self-repair, exchange and reduction of consumption through its projects and activities. |
Stop 3 Toolbox

Born of the renovation of a foundry from the early 1900s, Toolbox Coworking is a creative hub with more than 500 members. While everyone from freelancers, start-ups and companies works at Toolbox, common threads among the members are a collaborative mindset and an entrepreneurial attitude. It’s a space for innovation, promoting collaboration, serendipity and a multidisciplinary approach: a real platform to shape new business ideas, expand professional networks and develop new projects. |
