Impact Governancewith Esade Center for Social Impact Governance of impact in mission-driven organisations is critical. Proper governance ensures that they stay aligned to their mission and is central to creating, implementing and assessing impact and investment strategies. And yet the difference between governing an organisation’s impact and its financial health is not always understood – a lack of understanding that, as this session will propose, can become an organisation’s Achilles heel. We believe governance is not sufficiently discussed or brought out into the open and aim to offer a safe space to share concerns as well as solutions. Supported by hot-off-the-press action-oriented research into governance of impact in foundations by ESADE as well as research into impact governance within impact investing funds, we aim to generate a lively discussion and to share concrete tools and suggestions for how governance of impact can be improved across the philanthropic and impact investing space. |

This book presents cases of sustainability, from small start-ups to large corporations, but above all it tells the stories of extraordinary women who have decided to dedicate their time and personal resources to saving the world. This project approaches the sustainability challenge from a unique perspective, offering real-life examples of the leadership and impact of remarkable women who are changing the rules of the game in their respective industries and fields. |

Digital Skills for Underserved Youthwith Amazon The Digital Economy and Society Index shows that 4 out of 10 adults and every third person who works in Europe lack basic digital skills. Women are under-represented in tech-related professions and studies, with only 1 in 5 ICT specialists and 1 in 3 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) graduates being women. 20 million ICT specialists should be employed in the EU by 2030 but many jobs opportunities stay vacant offering opportunities for advanced social mobility especially to youth from underserved (low-income) and underrepresented (migrant) communities. There is a need for cross-sectoral partnerships to provide the necessary access to early digital education, career orientation and up-skilling for young people to reach employability. Meet and Code is Europe’s largest (private sector funded non-profit) digital education initiative. In this workshop the organizers and main partners want to describe the architecture and impact of the 7-year old collaborative impact program. Part of Alliance For Youth Initiative |

Pluralis Confidential: Behind the Scenes of the Fundwith Media Development Investment Fund Built as a solution to combat the risk of media capture in Europe, Pluralis is a novel model of blended capital. We invest in media organizations that are at risk of having their independent editorial line bent to meet the desires of governments, oligarchs and oil barons who seek to destabilize democracy. This exclusive design session will put you, the audience, at the very heart of Pluralis. Participants will be walked through the creation of Pluralis, before focusing on its unique investment model and capital structure. An open Q&A session will be followed by a hands-on workshop where we will explore together how this logic can be applied, can inspire, and can relate to every impact journey. If you are curious to witness the first ever session disclosing the investment logic of Pluralis, then this is the session for you. Join us, for what will be a dynamic session to end the Impact Week! |
