NESsT invests in enterprises where the entrepreneurial teams need to be committed to gender equity and inclusion and to adopting practices that contribute to improving gender impact at all levels of their business. In this way, we are helping to mainstream gender lens investing and ensuring that all entrepreneurs are committed to placing the voices, needs and roles of women at the center of all of their decisions. In the session we’ll discuss our mission, our method of social impact assessment and reporting, and showcase examples of portfolio companies from different regions that work intensively on improving gender equality.

Today’s global socio-political context is as stormy as it gets. Join us to find out how European foundations navigate these waters. Our roundtable discussion will contextualise European foundations in the current moment, and discuss how inevitably they have had to adapt and, to some extent, respond to challenging events. Three core questions will guide the discussion: what is the role of European foundations for societies, in Europe or in other local and global contexts? What is their scope for action within those different contexts, in particular democracies? Do foundations carry a special responsibility towards societies? Speakers in the roundtable will share their insights and expertise on what philanthropy does and its potential for social change.
