Impact in Conflict ZonesThis session will focus on the practical aspects of empowering entrepreneurs and investors in territories where the context is conflict. What challenges do impact investors face in these situations? How can the impact ecosystem support entrepreneurs to solve the most pressing problems? What risk mitigation strategies are available to investors? How relevant is the sector in which you invest to the risk exposure? Is there a difference for investors between dealing with conflicts that originated in foreign aggression (Ukraine) vs. domestic disputes (Burundi)? Is it true that perceived risk is generally higher than the real risk? What role does entrepreneurship and economic development play in stabilising conflict? Our panellists are ideally positioned to answer these questions and provide valuable insights to current and future investors focusing on territories in conflict. Speakers from Spark and Kampani bring knowledge based on many years of experience in African and Asian countries, while speakers from SILab Ukraine and Impact Hub Yerevan offer perspective from territories where conflict is still active (Ukraine) or simmering (Armenia). Join us for insights from the front lines of impact! |

Better Incubation: Project FinaleBetter Incubation was a unique opportunity to engage and achieve the transformational impact of the business support ecosystem, with three partner networks, EBN, IHUB and EVPA, working together towards sustainable solutions open to all kinds of entrepreneurs. Better Incubation aimed to enhance the inclusiveness of business support organisations (BSOs) by stimulating a wider cultural change in the incubation ecosystem, involving regional and EU stakeholders (investors, policymakers, social actors, BSOs) that can contribute to this paradigm shift. These activities were closely aligned with the European Commission’s Social Economy Action Plan, which recognises the importance of mainstream BSOs in supporting social economy entities. After 2 years of project activities, it is time to share key learnings on how to boost the promotion and support of impact-driven and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems in Europe and beyond. The project closing session will reflect on how this ecosystem works, who benefits and what’s next. The session is divided into 4 moments: 1. How BSOs can contribute to the implementation of the Social Economy Action Plan? Reflections from the perspective of a policy maker: the role BSOs can play in implementing the SEAP 2. Beyond Better Incubation – Partner Networks’ reflections on the way forward 3. Voices of Better Incubation. Testimonials from Better Incubation programme managers, partners and beneficiaries 4. Scaling Impact. Meet the Winners of the Better Incubation Contest 2022: The session will be livestreamed on the Better Incubation Twitter account, LinkedIn page and EBN YouTube Channel.
